Our Story
Icarus was a tragic character in Greek mythology. He was born into a trap, just like his family. His father made him wings to escape, but warned him to take the prudent middle path between flying too high or too low. Despite these warnings, Icarus became reckless after tasting the thrill of flying, flew too close to the sun, burned, and fell to his death.

At Icarus, we’re looking to change the story. Our mission is to “build a better addiction care system” for our patients, providers, and contracting facilities. Our founder Dr. Jacob Radford was working in the ER when he treated a series of family members that overdosed together on opioids multiples times in 24 hours. The system failed them repeatedly, until the son ultimately died and left a grieving mother. Those failures drove Dr. Radford to found Icarus Addiction Care in 2022. Contact us to learn more.
